when taken (every day) the estroven has cut my 3-6 hot flashes (unbearable!) to one or two mild ones.

I have been using Estroven for the past 8 months and it works for me! It has given me back my life. It doesn't totally take away the hot flashes and night sweats but it works for me 98% of the time. Consistency is the key. It's a natural product and does not stay in my system long so I just have to make sure that I don't skip taking it. I take one in the morning and one after dinner right before going to bed. Thank you Estroven for helping me have a normal life!

I started using it 2 years ago, and it works for me, all the nasty symptoms are gone completely. One time I stopped using for three weeks, and the night sweats, mood swigs. etc. came back with revenge! I resumed taking the Max. Strength Estroven, but for some reason it took really long time (a few months!) before the symptoms were gone again. I was happy using it, but now I started looking for something different. This supplement contains 400 mcg of folate, which recently was linked to increase incidence of the breast and other types of cancers: "Folate Supplementation Linked to Increased Cancer Incidence and Mortality" ([...]);
"Treatment With Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 Associated With Increased Risk of Cancer, Death" - [...]
Since 1998 the United States, have implemented mandatory folic acid fortification of flour and grain products, I wonder if we might actually overdose by taking an additional amount of folate with this supplement.
In addition, the results of recently completed Swedish study, which spanned 10 years and involved 35,329 women with an average age of about 61 years, are also alarming:
"We observed a 19% increased risk of breast cancer associated with multivitamin use after adjustment for other breast cancer risk factors," write the authors, led by Susanna Larsson, PhD.
"High doses of folic acid from supplements or fortified foods are of concern because synthetic folic acid is more bioavailable than folate from natural food sources and, hence, potentially more potent in promoting cancer growth," they write.
Not sure yet, what would be a safer bet, but probably look for something without a folate.

Been having an odd intro into menopause so when I started to get "hot flashes" at night wasn't totally sure which way to go. Live in a small town in the Central Valley of Cali and if it's not a gunshot wound or a car crash, very, very few Drs know what to do or (more importantly) care to hear or do anything about women's chronic health care needs. Additionally, as a NatAmer, I have some intolerance issues to soy products. However, so far, I have been very pleased with this product. It has slowed/down stopped the hot flashes at night. My only comment is that it might be a little dehydrating--so I try to drink extra water--and JUST GUESS when that water wants to exit. Yep, when I'm asleep. So if it's not one thing it's another but my friends tell me once I reach 60 (55 now), all the trubles go away.

This item has reduced my night sweats and hot flashes by at least 75-80%. I am very happy my gyncologist recomended it to me. Just not to sure about the cost throught Amazon. They carry the same one for about the same price at Costco now.
