This book was very helpful. I read it in no time. It cited great examples, gave me concrete steps to take to minimize fibroids on my own. It covered all the bases, from the dietary to the emotional aspects of the condition.
This book, I took with me to the health food store to make purchases. This book gave me much more information than 4 visits to MDs. MDs had only one thing to offer, hysterectomy. I walked away completely in the dark, with only one card in my pocket, wait for surgery or wait for menopause.
This book, however, taught me how to eat, and what natural means were available to reduce my heavy pain and bleeding. With this, and a few concerned friends and healers, in one month, I reduced my pain level by 8 points, bleeding was lightest it ever was, and I dropped 25 lbs. That weight loss alone did wonders to alleviate the stress on my other organs. Losing weight was not my goal. Yet, it became a great ruler for my progress. This book offered me the tools I needed to get my body healing. I thank them.
I hope every woman turning 30 reads this book.

This book was very helpful in understanding what fibroids are and my options. When I went to my GYN I was very educated and they were not able to scare me into some procedure.All women should learn about their bodies, healthy or unhealthy.Remember doctors are running a business, you are running your life!
Excellent Integrative MD's perspective August 18, 2009

There are many books out there that deal with this topic but few are written by an MD--a gynecologist--who takes an integrative medicine approach based on in-depth knowledge of alternative medicine options as well as conventional medicine and diagnostics. I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to avoid surgery for fibroids. At the very least, it's worth reading in order to be prepared to discuss options with your conventional gynecologist.

If you are looking for a cure for symptomatic fibroids, you will not find it by reading this book. there is absolutely no credible reserach in peer reviewed medical journals that proves women can cure fibroids by diet, herbs, supplements, exercise, balancing hormones, etc. This is an outdated book and the dr is not supportive of medical interventions such as Uterine Artery Embolization and the various types of myomectomy surgery. Some of what the dr discusses puts the blame squarely on women for their condition which I found to be insulting. Another words if you have stress in your life, unhappy family life, anger, anxiety, or are unfulfilled in some way, it can lead to uterine fibroids. this is nonsense, and no scientific studies have ever been done to prove this theory. There are many happy women who maitain very healthy diets, exercise regularly, have balanced hormones etc and they too can suffer from fibroids. Another sad example of the male dr blaming women for their condition. I have known many women, including myself, who have suffered with fibroids who did not find their answers from this book. Even the dr admits that once your fibroid condition is too far advanced the program he prescribes will not eliminate the need for surgery. I would never suggest a woman wanting to learn about fibroids read this book.

I received my book on time and well package. I do recommend this book for all those who are going through situations like fibroids. It is a good treatment plan instead of surgery. I am following up a diet with exercise and I feel great as if I don't have anything inside of me .
Follow the advices on this book and you will not need to go through surgery with this book. It is an excellent book I highly recommended .
