Great Book August 19, 2010 Cabaretsinger This is the ultimate guide to natural healing. I found info on supplements I've never even heard of before and I'm considered quite knowledgeable on the subject. I've almost suffered sensory shut-down scanning through it but have found viable suggestions for a couple of chronic conditions of mine. I'm weary of the long list of drugs prescribed for them and now I have alternatives that my very up-to-date doctor and I can discuss. Bought the paperback, used and it appeared to have never even been opened. Beautiful! My Doc wants to borrow it but I'm afraid I'll never get it back.
The Natural Physician's Healing Therapies by Mark Stregler, N.D. - Proven Remedies that Medical Doctors Don't Know December 3, 2009 J. R. Rezac (North Carolina USA) I was very happy with this book! It is all I thought it would be. J.R.
The Natural Physician's Healing Therapies October 24, 2009 Linda Compton This book was very informative, it gives a lot of different options for natural health cures and some very good suggestions.
Just what the Doctor ordered? October 12, 2009 James E. Jarvis (Tucson) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was impressed right off the bat to learn that Aconite, a homeopathic remedy, is a potent ally in the battle with the flu as well as general anxiety when administered right away. Homeopathic information is not usually given in the popular literature one finds coming from naturopathy. So "naturally" I was impressed and grateful for this tidbit right out of the gate or among the first pages of this book.
Unfortunately the book seems to come up short in other areas. For instance, the failure to mention the use of Cetyl Myristoleate for arthritis. It is an EFA and has been found to be powerfully effective against arthritis in many cases. This should be big news in a book on "Naturopathic Healing Therapies", yet there is no mention of it here. This would seem to me to be a gross overlook by the author and a liability when an author is orientated so much towards one school of thought,ie.Homeopathic, over another when writing about a vast topic such as natural medicinal protocols.
I must say in all fairness that Dr.Stengler will go to great lengths to flesh out info on a patient that most Docs might not consider relevant such as diet, sleeping habits, emotional profile and questions regarding what the patient has used as supplements and or medications or modalities other than the usual garden variety western Doctor would prescribe. Sometimes a customized protocol is just what the Doctor ordered, at least in this man's practice. I do recommend this book for those seeking help from a naturopath who is obviously talented and dedicated to his mission.Joint Power Rx 120 capsules
A book I go back to often May 17, 2009 Michael Toebe (Wichita, KS) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a book that I refer to often because it's so well written, easy to read and understand and so helpful. And guess what -- the few things I've tried in the book actually work.
Knowing that I don't have to rely on doctor's appointments and drugs for everything gives me peace of mind. I do still believe in doctor's visits and will use medication but if I can solve a condition without both, saving my body and my wallet in difficult economic times, then I prefer the latter approach.
I don't work for the author or the publisher -- just a regular guy -- and I highly recommend this book to anyone considering it.
