Product Description
Turning thirty years of medical and cultural wisdom on its head, Sex, Lies, and Menopause challenges both the medical establishment and modern feminists to prove that menopause does not have to be deadly. In this revolutionary work -- a landmark that signals the true beginning of feminist medicine -- a doctor, a philosopher, and a scientist prove that by postponing marriage and motherhood, women have accelerated the aging process, resulting in earlier menopause and, ultimately for thousands, earlier death. In Sex, Lies, and Menopause, T. S. Wiley, Julie Taguchi, M.D., and Bent Formby, Ph.D., offer strong evidence that the use of synthetic hormones leads to cancer and advise women to turn to natural hormone-replacement therapy -- derived from plants, not drugs -- to help them elevate their estrogen level for greater energy, libido, and intellectual capacity. Provocative, empowering, and scientifically sound, Sex, Lies, and Menopause addresses the inherent benefits of natural progesterone, reveals the lies advanced by the medical and drug establishments, and challenges women to demand a medical future where their health comes first. The research presented in Sex, Lies, and Menopause will at last allow women to create their own plan of action to put themselves safely on the path to better health and hormonal balance at any stage of life.

bioidentical hormones August 16, 2010 bronny this book is a must read for all woman.
totally enlightening and an easy read
Unproven Lies, No Real Facts July 15, 2010 C. Hawke (Farmington, MN United States) This book was a big disappointment. One entire third of the book is dedicated to definitions and source citing which means everything else is crammed into the first two thirds including all that nonsense they put at fronts of books these days. It is written story book style which injures its crediblity as an informational resource. The stories sound more like new earth melodrama than credible accounts based upon facts and statistics. Basically, if you read through it and you are a menopausal women you will conclude that life for women is designed to end at menopause whether that event occurs from a hysterectomy at twenty or around fifty as it more typical. This seems rather strange since men and women have since biblical times lived beyond their expected reproductive years. I would not read this if you happen to be frightened about this stage of life to begin with. Its almost corrosive in its devaluation of the human body and the purpose of human life. I don't see enough facts or statistics about life after menopause or manopause for that matter, to draw any such conclusions. The book paints a mostly grim picture that attempts to coerce us into believing the only solution to a short life is early and heavy reproductivity. Keep your fingers crossed though, just in case!!!
Very Difficult to Read; Better Options Out There! September 9, 2009 Denise Haller (Chicago) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
"I was excited to get this book. I had contacted a Dr. in my area that follows the "Wiley Protocol" and recommended I read it to better understand the philosophy. I brought it home eager to devour it and instead found it a big disappointment. Rather than clear cut information about symptoms of menopause and hormone imbalance I felt like it was a overly wordy research project the author did where she regurgitated an over abundance of reference materials which left me dizzy with her sales pitch on why she was the one with all of the answers. Each section is titled with verses from songs which was "cute" but made it hard to find topics you were searching for. Finally, more than the last third of the book is actually a bibliography on her research sources. I was hugely disappointed. I since purchase books written by Dr. John Lee "What your Dr. Didn't tell you about Peri-Menopause" and Dr. Uzzi Reiss - "Natural Hormone Balance". I say skip this one and get one of those. Much easier reads and a lot more information inside."
Not informative for Wiley Protocol patients September 8, 2009 Sierra Sondheim (Maryland) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is fictional story which might have been amusing if it hadn't destroyed my life for the 6 months that I used the protocol. If you're looking for information on how to treat your own symptoms of PMS and insomnia and headaches (all signs of estrogen dominance and progesterone insufficiency)....you won't find it in this book....nor will you find it through T.S. Wiley's institute nor the so called "experts" that are employed at the Wiley Protocol. I resorted to the Wiley protocol in hopes of relief for my PMS, cyclical headaches, anxiety and skin breakouts. My Wiley Protocol "doctor" prescribed the Wiley Protocol WITHOUT FIRST testing my estrogen and progesterone levels!!! Big Mistake...when my headaches grew worse in about the third month (excruciating in the back of my neck) and my period was coming 8 days late, I was told I needed more estrogen by the "experts" at the Wiley Center. That was wrong and unfounded, by this time, the pain was excruciating and unstoppable and I had 24/7 PMS, anxiety and toxic overload. I later discovered that these symptoms were caused by estrogen dominance, but the Wiley protocol employees kept telling me to take More and more estrogen, duh, are they so stupid....or just trying to sell product? Fortunately, I read Dr. John Lee's book and Dr. Christiane Northrup's books and Dr. Uzzi Reiss' books on "What your DR. May NOT tell you about perimenopause". Now I am beginning to understand the proper dosing and which hormones to take to address my symptoms. The doctors (I later found out they are not even doctors) at [...] did a huge disservice to me. They misdiagnosed my symptoms and made me a lot sicker. Sex, Lies and Menopause is book written about 40 decades too late with its hippie bohemian cosmic slant on how hormones are a celestial flowing song... If you want to experiment with untested drugs, then by all means go ahead and try it. The book could have been more helpful if it had given actual scientific information on symptoms of progesterone deficiency or estrogen dominance.... I don't consider it to be a real scientific book, just propaganda by the scamming manufacturers of The Wiley Protocol cream...they want you to think you need their product, when it is possible that you don't or maybe you do, just not in a super-size fits all format!!! The Wiley Protocol is vehemently opposed by almost every doctor in this country (except for the quacks that have been bought and paid for by Suzie Wiley)....And make sure you get your info from a knowledgable doctor with a real degree (don't make the mistake I did with Dr. Bloem who is a doctor in some other country, but is pretending to be a doctor in the U.S. Suzie Wiley is not a doctor, she is a writer (sci fi) who has not actually treated any patients.
Get as many as you can and give them to everyone. August 24, 2009 Cassidy (Grover Beach, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
OK, the writing style may not be the greatest and the rock and roll titles may not be to your liking, but there are deep truths in this book that should be read by all. Women and men alike have been manipulated by the medical and pharmaceutical companies and have paid the price in poor health and cancer.
It is high time we found out what we can do to "Stop dying and start living," as Steven King said in the Shawshank Redemption. Menopause was the worse thing that ever happened to me and natural bio-identical hormone replacement ala T.S. Wiley is the best. I would NEVER give up the natural estrogen and progesterone cycling. My only question is why didn't somebody tell me about this sooner? I went to all kinds of "health" specialists and doctors because I felt so terrible when I went through menopause. They told me to try anti-depressants, thyroid replacement, millions of supplements, estrogen ring, black cohosh, detox stuff, on and on... None of it worked. Nothing worked until I got on the Wiley Protocol.
So it is up to you and me to get the word out. The word is in this book, whether you like how it is written or not. Get the book. Give it to your friends.
Men may experience the same type of health benefits with testosterone replacement. Anyone who disses the info in this book obviously has an agenda that favors the pharmaceutical and medical establishment's status quo. These people cannot be trusted as they are brainwashed and/or greedy and selfish. Don't listen to their negative comments. Just get the book and get on the program.
